"I am so grateful for a school that is focused on giving kids their best every day. Having our son attend Virginia Academy has been a wonderful experience. The academic challenge here is much greater than the private schools he has attended in the area. We were recently presented with a challenging dynamic, for which I was extremely pleased with the support and speed for which the teacher, principal, and even the headmaster intervened to provide. This level of caring and dedication from the teachers and administration helps both our child and our family know that we've chosen the right school. Thank you, Virginia Academy!"

Virginia Academy reserves the right to delay and/or close school to ensure the safety of its students and staff. Such delay and/or closing decisions will be made as early as possible in order for parents to make necessary arrangements. Parents should sign up for automated parent alerts to receive timely notifications. Closing/delay information is noted on our website as early as possible. Parents should also maintain accurate contact information in our school data system. Although Virginia Academy uses LCPS and other resources to make delay and closing decisions, there may be days in which Virginia Academy remains open when Loudoun County Public Schools are closed.
Below are possible scenarios to help with application of these policies:
1 Hour Delay
School will open at 8:00 am for full-time preschoolers (school day and extended day) and students enrolled in the B.A.S.E. Camp before school program only. All other students may arrive no earlier than 9:00 am. School will begin at 9:30am.
2 Hour Delay
School will open at 9:00 am for full-time preschoolers (school day and extended day) and students enrolled in the B.A.S.E. Camp before school program only. All other students may arrive no earlier than 10:00 am. School will begin at 10:30 am.
In the event of school closures, our extended care program’s (Inclement Weather Camp) is made available for all full-time preschool (school day and extended day) students and students registered for our B.A.S.E after school program only. Inclement Weather Camp generally opens from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm on days school is closed. Hours of operation are subject to change, however, pending the severity of the weather and road conditions. With each school closing, Inclement Weather Camp hours of operation will be communicated. Again, this service is only for students enrolled in our after school program and preschool full-day program (school day and extended day). Students attending Inclement Weather Camp must bring a bag lunch and 2 snacks.
Should Virginia Academy close early due to inclement weather, parents will be notified of closing times and any after school activities or services availability through our parent alert system. Closing information will also be posted on our website. Parents will have up to one hour after the stated time of closing to pick up students. After 1 hour, late fees will apply. A $15 per child late pick up fee will be assessed for every 15 minute time period.
Early closings and late fees will also apply to the B.A.S.E Camp after school program.
